Counting the Omer – Day 37
Barukh ata Adonay, Eloheinu, melekh ha’olam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu al sfirat ha-omer.
Blessed are You, Adonay our God, ruler of the universe, who makes us holy with mitzvot and gives us this opportunity to count the Omer.
Today is day thirty seven, which is five weeks and two days of the Omer. Hayom yom shloshim ve sheva she hem hamisha shavuot ve shtey yammim laOmer.
Today is Gevura be Yesod, strength within sexuality, might within intimacy
I talked about vulnerability and weakness for day 36, so I guess it only makes sense to talk about strength. We prefer those that are strong. Strong, successful people are the ones that we’re attracted to and so, a good way for me to show myself to be attractive is to be strong. When I am strong, I can accomplish what I need, which includes being there for a loved one, and helping out. Sometimes, I can, with joy and without resentment, do a bit more, just so that I’ll be more strong and so promote intimacy.
However, being open also takes strength. Because of the risk of being hurt, it actually takes a lot of strength to be vulnerable with someone else.
Today, we try to be strong in two different ways – to do what we need to for the sake of our loved ones, and to be vulnerable with them as well.
